The "Life Periodic Plan" (LPP) aims at data mining of species through cutting-edge sequencing technology, discovering the laws of life hidden behind the data, and finally achieving "digital animals & plants, digital the earth"; and through popular forms to interpret science intended for general audience, let more people pay attention to living environments and care for life. Biodiversity is the material basis for human survival and development. It is also a condition for sustainable development of society. The implementation of the LPP project is conducive to the protection of endangered animals and plants, maintaining ecological balance and maintaining their diversity. At present, more than 500 genomes of plants and animals have been published globally. On this basis, LPP phase I will complete the sequencing of more than 5,600 mammals.
