The control treatment consisted of sodium phosphate buffer, the solvent for chitin in this experiment. W82 is the transgene recipient non-transgenic soybean cv Williams 82; DR1-136 is the weak transgenic soybean carrying the Promoter2-GmDR1 transgene; and DR1-107 is the strong transgenic soybean harboring the Promoter3-GmDR1 transgene
