Project name: Influenza A virus
Description: The project will isolate influenza A and B viruses (IAV and IBV) from nasal swabs/washes collected through human surveillance efforts in Baltimore, MD, Taipei, Taiwan and Macha, Zambia. Serum and nasal washes from the enrollees will be assessed for neutralizing antibody titers to vaccine and circulating IAV or IBV strains to assess antigenic relatedness. The IAV and IBV strains will be characterized for their basic replication on MDCK-Siat and human nasal epithelial cell cultures to assess virus fitness.
Data type: genome sequencing and assembly
Sample scope: Multiisolate
