Description: In this study, we retrospective reported whole-genome sequence variation in 10 high parasite density P. vivax China-inland isolates to exhibit the view of the genomic epidemiology in pre-elimination stage. These samples were collected from Anhui and Henan in 2011-2012 and representing the last outbreak during pre-elimination. Our results revealed that the inland population was severe fragmentation structured with low relatedness amongst infections, suggests that superinfection or co-transmission events are not common in low endemic areas. We also identified selection signatures in drug resistance and found changing the ratio of sensitive isolates as a reaction for people banned some drugs.
