Project name: Populus pruinosa

Description: Populus pruinosa, owing high tolerant ability to arid, saline and alkaline desert, is an attractive model for studying ecological adaptation and speciation in extreme environments. Here, a chromosome-level reference genome of P. pruinosa (v2.0) with 521.09 Mb and a contig N50 of 21.06 Mb by combining PacBio sequencing with Hi-C technologies were reported. Our aim was to (i) build a chromosome-level reference genome; and (ii) investigate the population structure and geographic distribution model of P. pruinosa. Our study would facilitate future genomics-assisted genetic improvement and conservation efforts for the endangered species.
