Project name: Nicotiana tabacum

Description: We found that ectopic expression of a Jatropha curcas TAW1 (JcTAW1), a homologous gene of a rice high-productivity gene, TAW1, in tobacco not only increased the yield of the transgenic plants but also exhibit a strong enhancement of plant height and root length, along with which, a potentiated drought resistance capacity was observed of the JcTAW1 transgenic plants. To detect the impact of ectopic expressed JcTAW1 on the transgenic tobacco plants, we made a RNA-seq analysis.
