Description: Vancomycin resistant Enterococcus faecium (VRE) is an important nosocomial pathogen with an increasing prevalence of its related infections worldwide. VRE isolates where collected over 12 years from two large medical centers and whole genome sequencing (WGS) of the isolates was performed. The results were analyzed in light of the demographic, epidemiologic and clinical outcome data.
