Project name: Pantoea agglomerans strain:33.1
Description: P. agglomerans, strain 33.1, was previously isolated from Eucalyptus grandis and is known as eucalyptus growth-promoter. It was evaluated regarding the biotechnological aspects of the sugarcane-bacterial association. 33.1 strain was able to promote sugarcane growth and also to induce the production of resistance proteins. Other researches have proved the role of 33.1 in the growth promotion of many crops. Despite the agronomic importance of P. agglomerans, molecular studies regarding their mechanisms of interaction with plants are incipient and this research project aims at sequencing, assembling, and annotating the genome of the P. agglomerans 33.1 strain to a better understanding of the molecular bases of 33.1 in promoting plant growth.
