Project name: Bemisia tabaci strain:Asia II 1 | isolate:WFR-01
Description: Bemisia tabaci (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) is one of the most important invasive insect pests worldwide. It acts as a vector for begomoviruses, criniviruses, torradoviruses, and ipomoviruses. It transmits Chilli leaf curl virus (ChiLCV; genus: Begomovirus) in a persistent-circulative manner. ChiLCV is a major constraint of chilli production worldwide causing yield loss of several billions USD. The comparative transcriptome of B. tabaci Asia II 1 in response to ChiLCV showed the differentially expressed transcripts that are associated with virus transmission.
