Project name: Porphyromonas gingivalis strain:LyG-1 | isolate:periodontally healthy
Description: Pophyromonas gingivalis is a a major pathogen in periodontal disease and is reported as one of the high risk factors of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). As wild-type Pg strains are characterized by major genetic heterogeneity, the pathogenicity of Pg strains in healthy and ESCC patients in Henan province-one of the high incidence areas for ESCC in China, is unknown as of yet. Therefore, this study cultivated and sequenced the genomes of wild-type Pg isolates from healthy and ESCC patients, which may provide new approach for ESCC-related Pg strains isolation and cultivation, and open the prospects of the pathogenicity of Pg as a high risk factors of ESCC in China.
