Description: The purpose of this whole genome sequencing was to provide the gene sequence of Lactobacillus plantarum MT213 isolated from steamed bread sourdough.Recently, the consumers strong preference for natural and healthy foods has sparked an emphasis on bioprotective cultures as a clean label way of lengthening shelf-life and enhancing food safety. Lactic acid bacteria (LAB), with the status generally recognized as safe (GRAS), are apprehended as an apt choice to be used as natural preservatives in food. Lactobacillus plantarum MT213, which displayed antimicrobial ability counter to S. aureus, B. cereus, P. fluorescens, E.coli, and feed-borne filamentous fungi Aspergillus niger, Penicillium citrinum, Mucor,Penicillium expansum, has the bio-preservation potential application in foods and feeds.
