Lactic acid bacteria (LAB), with the status generally recognized as safe (GRAS), are apprehended as an apt choice to be used as natural preservatives in food. Lactobacillus plantarum MT213, which displayed antimicrobial ability counter to S. aureus, B. cereus, P. fluorescens, E.coli, and feed-borne filamentous fungi Aspergillus niger, Penicillium citrinum, Mucor,Penicillium expansum, has the bio-preservation potential application in foods and feeds.
