Description: Enterococcus faecium is a non-spore forming gram positive bacteria. These are lactic acid bacteria commonly found in the gut of humans and animals and are recognized for their probiotic properties. However, some strains of E. faecium are also opportunistic pathogens notorious for causing infections such as bacteremia, urinary tract infection and infective endocarditis. Here, we report the draft genome sequence of Enterococcus faecium UBEF.
