Description: Trypanosomatids from the Endotrypanum-Porcisia clade are the closest phylogenetic relatives of Leishmania. This clade comprises parasites of sloths and porcupines, and surprisingly, sporadically human infections may be found related to Endotrypanum. We sequenced and analysed the genomes and transcriptomes of three representatives of the Endotrypanum-Porcisia clade, E. monterogeii, P. deanei and P. hertigi.
