Description: Several species of bacteria have been identified as major causes of urinary tract infection, but the prevalence of different bacteria can vary significantly, depending on location, timing, and demographics of the population being studied. This study is directed at identifying shared genomic and phenotypic traits in bacteria isolated from urine specimens provided by female patients presenting at a college health clinic, who were experiencing symptoms of urinary tract infections.
