Description: DNA was extracted February 28, 2008, from a fungal-dominated streamer biofilm collected from the 5-way location of the Richmond Mine acid mine drainage site at Iron Mountain, CA (elevation 3100 ft.). pH of acid mine drainage flowing over the biofilm was 0.98 and temperature was 38 C.
