Description: Labrenzia sp. strain 5N was isolated by seawater enrichment culture from suboxic waters at 120 m depth in the northeast Arabian Sea. It was selected for genome sequencing because it is closely affiliated with a major clade of denitrifying alphaproteobacteria that are found in association with the marine cyanobacterium, Trichodesmium, a globally important diazotroph.
