Description: RNA-Seq data from M. barkeri grown at either 30C or 0C in media supplemented with 10 mM sodium-, magnesium-, or calcium-perchlorate salt (in addition to perchlorate-free controls). The goal of this research to assess the individual and cumulative regulatory responses of methanogens in the presence of highly oxidizing, chaotropic salts and freezing conditions that are representative of potentially habitable environments on Mars.
