Description: Effects of high temperatures on tomato fruit quality is poorly characterised. Insights into how fruits adjust their metabolism to heat stress can contribute to developing heat-tolerant varieties without detrimental effects on fruit quality. Here we investigated changes occurring in tomato fruits after plants being exposed to transient heat stress (40oC day/ 30oC night, 48 h).RNA-seq data from tomato fruits at two ripening stages (B, breaker; B3, 3 days post breaker) harvested from plants at control conditions (C) or exposed to transient high-temperature treatment (H) were obtained. The analysis allowed to determine the transcriptional regulation of fruit metabolism under heat stress.
