Project name: Nocardioides sp. CF8

Description: Nocardiodes sp. strain CF8 was isolated from a hydrocarbon-contaminated site for its ability to degrade chloroform. CF8 is the first Gram positive bacterium identified with a particulate monooxygenase with similarity to particulate methane monooxygenase of the methanotrops. CF8 in addition has two genes encoding two alkane-1 monooxygenases.
