Description: We performed whole genome sequencing (WGS) on nine clinical Streptococcus agalactiae isolates. The aim of this study was to investigate genomic factors associated with the hyper hemolytic activity of a pigmented group B streptococcus (GBS) isolate causing streptococcal toxic shock syndrome (STSS) and disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC). To identify genetic variants associated with this phenotype, we did a comparative WGS analysis of six invasive and three non-invasive GBS isolates.
