Description: The yellow passion fruit (Passiflora edulis) is a crop of economic importance for both consumption as fresh fruit and juice production, consumed worldwide. Improving our understanding of passion fruit genome is very important, because little is known about this genome. Besides, this knowledge is to some degree, a pre-requisite for the effective use of its genetic resources. The goal was to explore the P. edulis BAC library, Ped-B-Flav, through the complete sequencing of 107 candidate BACs clones by PacBio RS II platform.
