Project name: Sinorhizobium meliloti root nodule bacterial transcriptomes for wild type and four mutant strains.
Description: We characterized transcriptomes of Sinorhizobium meliloti root nodule bacteria with mutations in sigma factor genes.Overall design: To identify genes whose expression was changed in S. meliloti root nodule bacteria deleted for various sigma factor genes, we inoculated Medicago truncatula host plants with four different deletion mutant strains (rpoE3-ecfR3; rpoE8-SMb20593; rpoH1; all ECF sigma factor genes) or CL150, a wild type strain corrected for mutations in pstC and ecfR1 (Schlüter et al. 2013 BMC Genomics 14:156). We used Custom Affymetrix GeneChips to profile S. meliloti nodule gene expression.
Data type: Transcriptome or Gene expression
