Project name: Lactiplantibacillus plantarum strain:C4
Description: Lactobacillus plantarum C4 is an strain isolated from a non-commercial kefir sample. Several publications have shown interesting probiotic properties of the C4 strain. L. plantarum C4 resists the conditions of the gastrointestinal tract, exerts antibiosis in vitro against enteric pathogens, partially restores the response capacity in immunosuppressed mice and modulates the response of cytokines in models of experimental infection by pathogenic bacteria. The sequencing of its genome will allow to identify the molecular bases of the probiotic effects of this bacterium.
