Project name: Limosilactobacillus reuteri
Description: Mechanistic understanding of host-microbe interactions is critical to developing therapeutic strategies for targeted modulation of the host immune system. Different members of the gut symbiont species Lactobacillus reuteri modulate host health by, for example, reduction of intestinal inflammation. However, for most strains the underlying mechanisms are unknown. In this study, we investigated the ability of L. reuteri strains to activate the aryl-hydrocarbon receptor (AhR), a ligand-activated transcription factor that plays a major role on immune system.
