Project name: Nicotiana tabacum
Description: This project was to study the genetic basis of bacterial wilt (BW) resistance in tobacco. A resistant variety D101 and a susceptible variety Changbohuang (CBH) were used in the experiment. Inoculation was performed by soaking roots of 30-days-old seedlings in a Ralstonia solanacearum suspension for 3 h. Mock inoculation (control) was performed using autoclaving-inactivated bacterial suspension. RNA was extracted from the seedling roots and sequenced on an Illumina HiSeq X Ten. Three biological replicates (samples) of each treatment were analyzed, each being a mixture of 6 seedlings. One replicate of D101-In was discarded due to poor RNA quality.
