Project name: Streptococcus sp. 'group A'

Description: In June 2016 an outbreak control team was formed following notification of four cases of Streptococcus pyogenes (S. pyogenes) in a long stay residential ward in a large mental health facility in Singapore. Clinical epidemiology combined with whole genome phylogenetic reconstruction allowed us to differentiate an outbreak cluster from other sporadic clusters circulating in the environment.
