Project name: Candidatus Parvarchaeum acidiphilum ARMAN-4
Description: Small size selected cells (<450 nm) by filtration of acid mine drainage from the UBA site at Richmond Mine at Iron Mountain, California. This library was constructed by filtering the Ultraback A (UBA) drift Iron Mountain biofilm through a 450 nm filter to enrich for ultra-small archaea, called ARMAN. The UBA sample was a pink subaerial biofilm collected June 2005. 60 Mbs of that filtrate was then Sanger sequenced and a near complete genome of one of the ARMAN groups was obtained with coverage up to 15X. The genome has been named Candidatus Parvarchaeum acidiphilum (ARMAN-4).
