Project name: Citrobacter werkmanii strain:AK8

Description: The whole genome of carbapenem resistant Citrobacter werkmanii has been sequenced using Nextseq 500 NGS platform from paired end librarylayout. The analysis of wgs data will give us an insight about the new insertion-sequence (IS) elements, integrons, transposons, resistant islands mutations, or new genes that are responsible for conferring multi-drug resistance. The sequence will later be targeted by gene suppression mechanism toblock the spread of horizontal gene transfer. Moreover, new resistant enzyme variants can also be targeted by novel inhibitor being designedin our lab.
