Description: Enterococcus faecium E1162. Enterococcus faecium E1162 was isolated from a bloodstream infection of a hospitalized patient in 1997 in France. This strain has MLST sequence type (ST) 17 and carries the esp gene. The genome sequences of E. faecium strains isolated from different environmental niches will lead to the identification of genes and genetic elements that have been acquired by hospital-adapted strains and may contribute to virulence.
