Description: Enterococcus faecium E1071. Enterococcus faecium E1071 was isolated from the feces of a hospitalized patient in 2000 in the Netherlands. This strain has MLST sequence type (ST) 32 and is vancomycin resistant. The genome sequences of E. faecium strains isolated from different environmental niches will lead to the identification of genes and genetic elements that have been acquired by hospital-adapted strains and may contribute to virulence.
