Description: Sandalwood trees produce one of the most valuable fragrances but the complete biosynthetic pathway still remains to be fully elucidated. Here, we performed transcriptome sequencing and metabolite analysis for three xylem developmental stages in adult sandalwood trees to characterize the last steps in sandalwood oil biosynthesis.
