Description: Enterococcus faecium E980. Enterococcus faecium E980 was isolated from a healthy human volunteer in 1998 in the Netherlands. Like other human commensal strains E980 has MLST sequence type (ST) 94. The genome sequences of E. faecium strains isolated from different environmental niches will lead to the identification of genes and genetic elements that have been acquired by hospital-adapted strains and may contribute to virulence.
