Description: In this study, α-farnesene synthase was cloned from apple peel and was ectopically expressed in tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum NC89). Transgenic plants showed an accelerated developmental process and bloomed about 8 weeks before the control plants under long-day conditions. We anticipate that transcriptome analysis can provide useful information on isoprenoid biosynthesis, growth, and development.
