Description: The PR8 and PR8mut viruses were produced by reverse genetics using the pHW191-PB2, pHW192-PB1, pHW193-PA, pHW194-HA, pHW195-NP, pHW196-NA, pHW197-M (wild type PR8) or pHW197-Mmut (PR8mut), and pHW198-NS vectors. Reverse genetics plasmids for PR8 virus were kindly provided by Dr. Robert G. Webster (St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, USA).
