Description: Reference genome from a large-scale integrated project to study bacterial carbon sequestration after phytoplankton blooms and bacterial-mediated carbon turnover between the pelagic and benthic zones of the North Sea (COGITO: Coastal Microbe Genomic & Taxonomic Observatory). Sampling is done at the long-term ecological research site Helgoland, an offshore island in the German Bight of the North Sea.
