Project name: Enterococcus faecium strain:L-3
Description: Enterococcus faecium is one of the most controversial bacteria. On one hand it is widely used as probiotic, and on the other hand it causes nosocomial infections especially in the immunocompromised patients. The genome architecture could reflect the difference between commensal E.faecium strains and pathogenic ones. Enterococcus faecium strain L-3 was isolated from probiotic, widely distributed in Russia. Complete genome sequence of the strain was obtained, using 454 pyrosequencing on the GS FLX platform (Roche 454 Life Sciences). The genome annotation was performed using RAST.
