Project name: Asymmetron lucayanum
Description: Cephalochordates, the most basal group of chordates, have been referred to as “living fossils” due to their morphological resemblance to the fossil records from the Cambrian sediments. In the present study, we performed deep RNA sequencing (RNA-Seq) from phylotypic stage (20 hr) embryos and adults of Asymmetron lucayamum, a cephalochordate distantly related to the previous sequenced B. floridae.
Data type: Transcriptome or Gene expression
Sample scope: Multiisolate
Relevance: Evolution
