Project name: Dethiosulfovibrio peptidovorans DSM 11002
Description: Dethiosulfovibrio peptidovorans DSM 11002. This strain (DSM 11002; SEBR 4207) is the type strain for the species. Dethiosulfovibrio peptidovorans DSM 11002 was isolated from a corroding steel pipe from an offshore oil well near Congo. This organism is able to corrode mild steel rapidly (about 1 cm per year) in the presence of thiosulfate.
