Description: The genome of Acanthamoeba castellani strain Neff is in the process of being sequenced by the Human Genome Sequencing Center at Baylor College of Medicine in collaboration with Dalhouise University.The A. castellani genome size is estimated to be 45 Mb. As of July 31, 2006, the genome has been sequenced to 13.75x coverage and assembled into 52,916 contigs.
