Project name: Caenorhabditis brenneri strain:PB2801
Description: The organism is Caenorhabditis brenneri Sudhaus & Kiontke, 2007; strain PB2801. This strain is derived from the wild isolate LKC28. It was inbred in Scott Baird's laboratory for 20 generations by transferring one gravid female per generation. The strain LKC28 was established in from worms collected by Hernan Ruiz in 2003 "from roots of Liriope (Convallariaceae) grown in a nursery in Costa Rica (Provinciade Alajuela)" (Sudhaus & Kiontke 2007). LKC28 and three other strains of C. brenneri were described in Sudhaus & Kiontke, 2007.
