Description: Phylogenomics and the origin and diversification of Kingdom Fungi: Genome sequencing of exemplar species from twelve unsampled subphyla and classes of the Kingdom Fungi will provide a more complete understanding of fungal biology, genome organization, gene diversity, and regulatory elements. This effort will advance the application to human industrial and scientific endeavors (e.g., biofuels and carbon sequestration).
