Project name: Streptocarpus rexii

Description: De novo assembly of S. rexii transcriptome. Plants and seeds materials of Streptocarpus rexii Lindl. (Gesneriaceae; Lindley 1828), RBGE accession number 20030814 (Tsitsikamma, Cape Province, SA), came from the living research collection held at the Royal Botanic Garden, Edinburgh), were grown in glasshouses at the Botanical Garden of the University of Milan. Voucher specimens are deposited at the herbarium at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. Seedling at different developmental stages (from unfolded cotyledon to late anysocotyledony) as well as basal part of phyllomorphs were used to perform RNA extraction.
