Description: Bacillus cereus W. Bacillus cereus W (ATCC 11950) is the closest known B. cereus isolate to B. anthracis based on multilocus sequence typing phylogeny. Additionally, the gamma phage used historically to discriminate B. anthracis strains (susceptible) from B. cereus strains was originally isolated from B. cereus W. This organism will be used for comparative analysis with other Bacillus strains.
