Description: Boron (B) is an essential micronutrient for plants. B toxicity is one of the abiotic stress factors in plants and it causes loss of productivity and quality in agricultural lands. Boron toxicity induced symptoms are reduced vigor, slow development and growth of plants, lower photosynthetic rates, chlorosis or necrosis of old leaves, cellular disorders and DNA damage as well. Though many studies have performed to understand the boron tolerance mechanism in plants there is little information about whole transcriptome level analysis of toxicity in plants. To better understand the boron tolerance mechanism the transcriptome profiles of boron tolerant barley roots and leaves treated with toxic boron concentration were compared in this study.
