Description: The tetse fly Glossina fuscipes fuscipes is a vector of the pathogenic trypanosome Trypanosoma brucei rhodesiense. T. brucei rhodesiense is a zoonotic agent that causes an acute form of Human African Trypanosomiasis (sleeping sickness) in East and Southern Africa. Genomic data from this Glossina species will contribute to the understanding of typanosomiasis transmission and inform vector control efforts.
