Description: The genome of Mycoplasma mycoides subsp. mycoides strain C425/93 was sequenced as part of the EVOLMYCO initiative funded by The French National Research Agency (ANR). This project aims to study the evolution of ruminant mycoplasmas with a special focus on horizontal gene transfer. Strain C425/93 from Mycoplasma mycoides subsp. mycoides was isolated in 1993 from caprine with pneumonia in Ribatejo e Oeste, Almoster, Portugal.
