Description: The genome of Mycoplasma mycoides subsp. capri strain PG3 was sequenced as part of the EVOLMYCO initiative funded by The French National Research Agency (ANR). This project aims to study the evolution of ruminant mycoplasmas with a special focus on horizontal gene transfer. Strain PG3 from Mycoplasma mycoides subsp. capri was isolated in 1950 or earlier from goat with pleuropneumonia in Turkey.
