Description: A genetic linkage map of the tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus, was constructed using microsatellite and AFLP markers.A second-generation genetic linkage map was constructed from O. niloticus X O. aureus F(2) progeny. The map contains 525 microsatellite and 21 gene-based markers. A physical map of the tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus, was constructed by restriction fingerprinting 35,245 BACs. It consists of 3,621 contigs and spans approximately 1.752 Gb in physical length.
