Project name: Glycine max
Description: Realizing the importance of soybean, an EST project was started in 1997 as a first step towards understanding the genome of soybean. The primary objective was to develop and characterize large number of cDNA libraries and deposite the sequences into a public database. This project is a collaboration between participants at the University of Illinois, Iowa State University, Northern Arizona University, University of Minnesota, and the University of Missouri. It is funded by soybean grower associations, which are funding the creation of a soybean EST data base, and NSF, which focuses on functional genomics.
Data type: Transcriptome or Gene expression
Sample scope: Monoisolate
Organization: Washington University School of Medicine; Soybean EST Project; University of Illinois; Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology, CAS, China
