Description: Medicago truncatula chloroplast genome was sequenced at the University of Oklahoma in partnership with the noble foundation. The DNA sequence consists of one contiguous 124,039 base pair circle. Artificially linearizing the genome shows Medicago chloroplast genomic sequence to be co-linear with the arabadopsis, tobacco and most other chloroplast genomes. Semi-automated annotation of the chloroplast genome using Web-Artemis is available.
